To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether the Minister for Overseas Development will publish in theOfficial Report the letters she has written to the major British non-governmental organisations on famine in the horn of Africa.

I have today written the following letter to the Directors of Christian Aid, Oxfam, CAFOD, Save the Children Fund and CARE:

[holding answer 4 February 1991]: I have placed in the Library the latest versions of booklets 1, 3 and 4 in the land compensation series. These include sections on blight procedures relating to residential property, businesses and farms and are sent to all those affected by departmental road schemes once likely land acquisition requirements are publicly announced.
