§ 59. Mr. Tom ClarkeTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is his forecast for the cost to the Exchequer in a full year in(a) 1991–92 and (b) 1992–93 of tax relief for private medical insurance premiums for persons aged over 60 years.
§ Mr. MaudeThe estimated cost of the relief in respect of 1991–92 is expected to be about £60 million. The cost in respect of 1992–93 will depend on the level of premiums paid.
