To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if any works of art accepted in lieu of inheritance tax have been allocated since he last made an announcement.

My right hon. Friend, the Minister for the Arts, announced on 26 April 1991 at column594 that the following works had been accepted in lieu of inheritance tax.

The C. H. Brackenbury Memorial Collection of Wind Instruments £126,956

I am pleased to announce that I have decided to allocate these works to the University of Edinburgh where they have been on loan since 1980.
