HC Deb 17 December 1991 vol 201 c145W
Mr. Allen

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will bring forward regulations relating to(a) the disclosure of information on occupational pension funds arising from the Social Security Act 1988, (b) limited price indication, (c) self-investment (both arising from the Social Security Act 1990) and (d) contracting-out rebates for the next quinquennium.

Miss Widdecombe

We shall bring forward amending regulations relating to disclosure of information in the new year, shortly after the publication of a booklet giving guidance to trustees on the exercise of their function.

Implementation of limited price indexation was delayed because of the uncertainties arising from the Barber judgment. In the light of the Maastricht protocol we are considering whether and when the necessary regulations should now be introduced. I refer the hon. Member to my reply to my hon. Friend the Member for Ealing, North (Mr. Greenway) on 12 December at column 527 in relation to self-investment regulations, and my reply to the hon. Member on 15 November at column 685 in relation to the contracting-out rebate.
