§ Mr. Peter LloydUnder exceptional arrangements outside the immigration rules, a domestic servant may be admitted to continue to work for an employer here, but only if the domestic servant has worked abroad for the employer for a substantial period. Before an entry clearance is granted, the employer must accept responsibility for the maintenance and accommodation of the domestic worker. While in the United Kingdom domestic workers are entitled to the normal protection of our law, as is made clear in a leaflet given to each domestic worker who is granted an entry clearance abroad or an extension of stay in the United Kingdom.
