§ Mr. Archie HamiltonThe three fleet tenders at HMS Raleigh provided training in replenishment at sea—RAS —which in future will be provided more cost-effectively by a shore-based type 23 RAS rig. HMS Raleigh will continue to have a substantial number of small craft to provide new entrants with the basic sea-going experience formerly provided by the tenders.
