To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many persons have been convicted in Northern Ireland for(a) using and (b) being in possession of clenbuterol; and what penalties have been imposed up to the latest available date.

To date three people have been convicted for the illegal administration of clenbuterol hydrochloride. One fine of £2,250 with £290 costs and two fines of £250 with £144 costs were imposed.

Two people have been convicted for the illegal importation of clenbuterol hydrochloride. Fines of £800 with £5 costs and £500 with £183 costs were imposed.
