To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will make a statement on the work of English Nature in respect of wild bird habitat.

English Nature continue to make satisfactory progress in the conservation of wild bird habitat primarily through the notification of SSSIs and, where appropriate, through their subsequent management.
