§ Mr. Nicholas BennettThe epilepsy unit is independently funded—largely, I understand, by the pharmaceutical industry to facilitate the development and trial of new drugs. It is not an NHS facility. I understand that the unit is to continue to function on a more limited scale. It is the responsibility of health authorities and general medical practitioners to secure the services they regard as necessary for local residents with epilepsy, as for all other conditions.
