To ask the Attorney-General what was the total expenditure by the Lord Chancellor's Department on press and public relations in 1979–80 and in each following year; and what is his estimate for 1990–91 and budget for 1991–92.

Total expenditure on press and public relations excluding staff costs is as follows:

The amounts spent for previous years can be obtained only at disproportionate cost.
The budget for 1991–92 is £73,000.
