§ Mr. MaudeThe amount of assessed income tax excluding PAYE and unassessed companies' payments collectable for the accounts year ended 31 October 1989 was £11,489.3 million.
The amount stood over in the year ended 31 October 1989 and not included in the above was £5,188.7 million.
The amount of assessed income tax excluding PAYE and unassessed companies payments remitted in the year ended 31 October 1989 was £227.6 million, although most if not all of this would relate to assessments raised in earlier years.
The amount of tax assessed by 31 July 1989 cannot be ascertained as the Inland Revenue do not hold such figures on a month-by-month basis.
