HC Deb 24 April 1991 vol 189 cc443-4W
Mr. Ronnie Campbell

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many criminal convictions there have been for offences against children where children were abused by a parent in Blyth Valley and Northumberland in the last two years.

Mr. Kenneth Baker

Except in the case of homicides, no information is collected centrally on convictions of parents for offences against their children. I understand that for Northumberland police force area there were two homicides of children in 1988 and one in 1989 which resulted in convictions of their parents for manslaughter.
