§ Mr. LeightonTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment what matters he has discussed with the group of 10 TEC chairmen; and if he will make a statement.
281W
Mr. JacksonI have discussed a number of issues relating to training and enterprise and the framework within which TECs operate with the group of 10 TEC chairmen. I find these meetings particularly useful as a way of hearing views directly from TEC chairmen.
§ Mr. LeightonTo ask the Secretary of State for Employment how many non-seconded staff are directly employed by TECs.
Mr. JacksonAs at 10 April 1991, 216 staff were employed by training and enterprise councils, in publicly funded posts. TECs are also able to employ other directly recruited staff using their own resources.
