HC Deb 18 April 1991 vol 189 c251W
Mr. Galbraith

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what plans he has to introduce an initiative in Scotland similar to that announced for England and Wales in February for the development of services through the integration of primary and secondary health care.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

The structure of the health service in Scotland already brings together all aspects of hospital, community health and family practitioner services within health board's responsibilities.

The health boards and NHS management executive in Scotland are working together to ensure that this integration works as well as possible at all levels, and thereby to improve the overall quality of service to patients.
