§ Mr. HinchliffeTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what information he has available concerning the impact of proposals for the disposal of public sector land on land areas identified by local authorities for future housing purposes.
§ Mr. YeoThe use of any land which my right hon. Friend decided to make the subject of a direction to dispose would be decided through the planning system in the normal way. Where a direction to dispose is proposed the landowner has the right to make representations about its actual or intended use. My right hon. Friend takes these into account when deciding whether to make the direction.
