HC Deb 31 October 1990 vol 178 c510W
Mr. Tony Lloyd

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on the working of the Channel Tunnel Safety Authority.

Mr. Freeman

The Channel Tunnel Safety Authority is an independent bi-national body established by the channel fixed link treaty. The authority's role, working practices and an account of major safety issues considered, were set out in its annual report for 1988–89, copies of which were placed in the Library of the House. I understand that the authority is preparing its annual report for 1989–90.
