HC Deb 23 October 1990 vol 178 c175W
Mr. David Marshall

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland what is his estimate of the numbers of(a) disabled males and females, (b) blind males and females, (c) deaf males and females, (d) dumb males and females and (e) geriatric males and females living in (i) Shettleston constituency, (ii) Glasgow district, (iii) Strathclyde region and (iv) Scotland.

Mr. Michael Forsyth

Information on the number of persons in particular disability categories is not held centrally in the detailed form requested.

More general information on the numbers of disabled people in Scotland with different levels of severity of disability, is contained in the report of a survey of disability in Great Britain carried out by the Office of Population Censuses and Surveys and published by HMSO in 1988: a copy of this is available from the Library.
