§ Mr. Archie HamiltonThe amount spent on official hospitality by the Ministry of Defence in 1989–90 totalled some £3.729 million. This included expenditure by the Ministry of Defence itself, by formations and establishments of the armed forces at home and abroad, and by individual officers occupying command and international appointments for which entertainment allowances are payable.
