§ Sir Wyn RobertsCurrent policy regarding the use of Welsh in the internal administration of the department is based on the guidelines set out in the Hughes Parry report on the status of the Welsh language. This policy is currently being reviewed in the light of the guidelines prepared by the Welsh Language Board. I will place a copy of any new guidelines in the Library of the House once they have been finalised.
§ Mr. MallonTo ask the Secretary of State for Wales if he will give details of the total Government expenditure on the promotion and development of the Welsh language in each year since 1985.
