§ Mr. Kenneth ClarkeThe board of the Student Loans Company met on 1 November and, with the approval of the then holder of my office and my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Scotland, appointed Mr. Ralph Kanter as non-executive director. This appointment will bring additional commercial expertise to the board of a successful and efficient company.
