§ Mr. HinchliffeTo ask the Secretary of State for Health what guidance is given by his Department to health authorities regarding monitoring the safety of food bought privately by patients, relatives or friends from outside premises for consumption within hospitals by patients.
§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyIt is for health authorities to make any necessary arrangements for monitoring the safety of food in hospitals including any food brought in privately. In doing so they will draw on the hygiene guidance issued by the Department.
