To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will make a statement about the working party on the Payment of Debt (Northern Ireland) Act 1971.

The Payments for Debt (Emergency Provisions) Act (Northern Ireland) 1971 does not make provision for a working party; but the public debt policy committee, comprising officials from all Government Departments in Northern Ireland with a major interest in public debt, keeps the problem of public debt under review.
