§ Mr. BrookeNorthern Ireland is part of the United Kingdom. The Governments of the United Kingdom and of the Republic of Ireland affirm in article 1 of the Anglo-Irish Agreement that any change in the status of Northern Ireland would only come about with the consent of a majority of the people in Northern Ireland and recognise that the present wish of a majority is for no change in that status.
