§ Mr. GummerI represented the United Kingdom at the meeting of the Agriculture Council from 26 to 29 March together with the Parliamentary Secretary, my hon. Friend the Member for Skipton and Ripon (Mr. Curry). Discussion concentrated on the 1990 price fixing. Detailed and intense discussions over several days resulted in two presidential compromises. However, a qualified majority could not be found. Discussion is expected to resume at the next meeting of the Council beginning on 25 April.
