§ Mr. LeightonTo ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will call for a report from the Commissioner of the Police of the Metropolis on what steps are being taken to end unlawful parking in Green street and Katherine road in the London borough of Newham and as to how many parking offenders had their cars clamped in the London borough of Newham in the last 12 months.
§ Mr. WaddingtonI understand from the Commissioner that traffic wardens patrol the area daily and these roads are among those in the area targeted for enforcement by the area traffic unit. Vehicle removal teams are also deployed in the area from time to time. Wheelclamping may take place only in areas where it has been authorised by order by the Secretary of State. It has not been authorised in the borough of Newham.
