§ Mr. EggarI am making arrangements so that the organisers may employ and train up to 1,140 unemployed people during the festival from public funds. Parliamentary approval to this provision will be sought in a supplementary estimate for the Department of Employment's training and enterprise programmes vole (class VI vote 1). Pending that approval, urgent expenditure estimated at £2.7 million will be met by repayable advances from the Contingencies Fund.
