However, following a recommendation from the Committee on Medical Aspects of Radiation in the Environment last year, the National Radiological Protection Board (NRPB) is proposing to link the data on the national register of radiation workers with information on the geographical distribution of childhood cancer held by the childhood cancer research group at Oxford. We are urgently considering this and other related research proposals. A large amount of parallel research has already been commissioned by Government, which has either been completed, or is under way or planned.
