§ Mr. Tim Smith
To ask the Minister for the Arts how many internal auditors are employed in his office and at what cost; how many internal audit reports were produced in 1989; how many of these were drawn to his attention; and what internal audit work is subcontracted to private firms and at what cost.
§ Mr. Luce
No internal auditors are employed by the Office of Arts and Libraries. Internal audit services are, however, provided by the Cabinet Office team at no cost to the Office of Arts and Libraries. Two internal audit reports were produced in 1989 as part of a predetermined cycle of audit reviews, neither of which was drawn to my attention. No internal audit work is subcontracted to private firms.628W
