To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what are the expected values of building contracts for(a) new build and (b) repair and maintenance, managed by Property Holdings after 1 April, for each of the next three years on the common user estate; and what were the equivalent figures for each of the previous three years under the old Property Services Agency.

The table lists the expenditure on, or for future years provision for, design and construction costs on new builds for the six years requested. For maintenance, the figures sought are not available for 1991–92 and 1992–93, as there is to be a further reallocation of responsibilities between Property Holdings and Departments which will take effect from 1 April 1991.
