asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether in the interests of peace in the Horn of Africa they will call for an international embargo on arms shipments to the region, and whether in particular they will seek to dissuade Israel and Poland from continuing to supply weapons to Ethiopia.

Along with our partners in the Twelve we issued a statement on 20th February which drew attention to the negative effects of external military assistance in the region and called on all concerned to refrain from actions which could seriously undermine attempts to achieve peaceful solutions.
