- Lough Beg, Counties Londonderry and Antrim
- Beagh Big, County Fermanagh
- Garvroa, County Fermanagh
- Moneendogue, County Fermanagh
- Lergan, County Fermanagh
- Drumlisaleen, County Fermanagh
- Inner Belfast Lough, Counties Antrim and Down
- Glen Burn, County Antrim
- Strangford Lough (Part 1), County Down
- Ballymacormick Point, County Down
- Strangford Lough (Part 2), County Down

Proposals for a further five areas are currently under consideration and declarations are likely to be made later this year. Other areas will be designated in the future as a result of continuing survey work, but it is not possible at this stage to predict which sites will be designated.
