Data on average prices are available only quarterly. Between the fourth quarter of 1986 and the fourth quarter of 1989 the latest period for which figures have been published there was a fall of 21 per cent. in real terms in industrial gas prices. From 1974 to 1979 there was an increase of 83 per cent. in real terms.
