§ Lord James Douglas-HamiltonThe Scottish Development Department has recently carried out a research project into the housing needs of elderly people in Scotland. This involved interviews with elderly people themselves and consultation with various interest groups. A circular will be published later this year, based on this research and further informal consultation, giving new guidance on meeting the housing needs of the elderly and other groups who require care in the community.
