§ Mr. CohenTo ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many(a) civil servants and (b) armed forces personnel, both current and formerly serving, are under investigation following allegations of bribery and corruption; if he will list the weapons, projects or circumstances involved in each case and the value of each project; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Alan ClarkAn official of my Department has been arrested and charged with an offence contrary to the Prevention of Corruption Act 1906. A retired Army officer has also been arrested in connection with a similar offence but has not so far been charged. The investigation is still in progress and other individuals will be interviewed as and when the police consider it appropriate.
