§ Mr. LuceThe Foreign and Commonwealth Office has provided an additional £2.25 million in 1990–91 to enable the British Council to increase cultural activity in eastern Europe including new British cultural centres there. I am exploring the scope for mounting cultural initiatives within the remit of the know-how-fund. I have also given an extra £50,000 to the Arts Council and £5,000 to Visiting. Arts to help bring eastern European arts groups to Britain.
