HC Deb 11 June 1990 vol 174 c27W
Mr. Wigley

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales whether he has given any guidelines to health authorities in Wales on serving beef.

Mr. Grist

The Department has issued to all health authorities the text of a statement made on 16 May by the chief medical officer of the Department of Health. This statement confirmed that British beef can be eaten safely by everyone, both adults and children, including patients in hospital.
