To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what plans the Government have to act upon the United Nations declaration on the rights of the child.

Mr. Sainsbury

The declaration on the rights of the child was the forerunner of the convention on the rights of the child. The United Kingdom signed the convention on 19 April and will ratify it as soon as possible.
