HC Deb 05 June 1990 vol 173 cc449-50W
Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what measures he is taking to help those with a need for hip surgery in Clwyd; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Grist

The provision of hip surgery is a matter for district health authorities in the first instance. In addition, residents of Clwyd who have been on an in-patient waiting list for a hip replacement operation for more than four months and who are willing to travel to South Glamorgan may be referred for surgery at the all-Wales orthopaedic treatment centre in the Prince of Wales hospital, Rhydlafar.
