To ask the Secretary of State for Health what additional resources have been made available to Bury district health authority for 1990–91.

Mr. Dorrell

In 1990–91 additional cash resources will be made available by the North Western regional health authority to Bury health authority amounting to £2,723,200 which represents an increase of 9.3 per cent. over the previous year. Taken together with about £1 million efficiency savings, this will enable service developments of over £1.4 million to go ahead this year.
