To ask the Secretary of State for Energy what financial targets and external financing limits have been set for the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority for 1990–91; and what the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority's capital expenditure programme is to be in 1990–91.

Mr. Wakeham

I have set the United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority a financial target for 1990–91 of 4 per cent. return on net assets on a current cost basis. The United Kingdom Atomic Energy Authority's external financing limit for 1990–91 is £45 million and its capital expenditure programme £25 million.
