HC Deb 26 July 1990 vol 177 cc491-2W
Dr. Godman

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security whether pensioners over 75 years of age living in(a) Greenock and Port Glasgow, (b) Strathclyde and (c) Scotland as a whole have been paid the additional housing benefit to which they are entitled following the Government's changes in the rules for those aged over 75 years.

Mrs. Gillian Shephard

The day-to-day administration of housing benefit is the responsibility of local authorities. We are not aware that councils in Scotland had any particular difficulty in implementing the changes to the housing benefit scheme in October 1989.
