Mr. Robertson

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what changes in the procedure of his Department were instituted as a consequence of the Iraq supergun incident at Easter.

The administration of export licensing by my Department was thoroughly reviewed in 1988 and the need to ensure that the controls remain effective, and are efficiently administered, is kept under continuous study.
