Mr. Needham

Mr. Needham

In March 1990 a member of staff of the Northern Ireland tourist board employed in the New York office was dismissed on grounds of misconduct arising from the misuse of public funds. The amount in question was fully recovered.

Rev. Martin Smyth

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many people have been dismissed from the New York office of the Northern Ireland tourist board in each of the last two years; and if he will give the reasons in each case.

Mr. Needham

Two members of the staff of the Northern Ireland tourist board employed in the New York office have been dismissed within the past two years. One was on grounds of inefficiency and the other was on grounds of gross misconduct involving misuse of public funds.
