Mr. O'Neill

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence what consideration has been given to maintaining a defence industrial base that is capable of meeting the future requirements of the armed services in the course of his study of the options for change.

I refer the hon. Member to the statement by the Secretary of State for Defence today on "Options for Change" in which he indicated that we would now be consulting the defence industries about our broad proposals.
