§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyRepresentations about funding for training have been received from the Orthotic and Prosthetic Training and Education Council, the London School of Prosthetics and the National Association of Limbless Disabled, and from some individuals. We have discussed the provision of a degree level course for orthotists and prosthetists at Salford with the Orthotic and Prosthetic Training Committee Universities Funding Council, Salford university and Salford polytechnic. Because of the complex issues involved, no decision is expected for some time.
Until the start of a new degree course, the Orthotic and Prosthetic Training and Education Council, which has responsibility for training of orthotists and prosthetists, are making plans to continue present training arrangements.
