asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether Judge Tumim's Report expected in the autumn of 1990 will cover the prevention of suicides among those detained under the Immigration Acts.

Judge Tumim's Report will examine the procedures for the prevention of suicides by all inmates in Her Majesty's Prison Service establishments in England and Wales, including those detained under the Immigration Acts. It will not specifically cover suicide prevention measures in Her Majesty's Immigration Service Detention Centres.
