What has been the cost of promoting and implementing the scheme to recruit licensed teachers, and how many such teachers have been appointed.

Under the Local Education Authority Training Grants Scheme, the department has provided funds in support of local education authority expenditure of £2.1 million for the financial year 1990–91, to assist local education authorities with the cost of training licensed teachers. Local education authorities and governing bodies have so far appointed 68 licensed teachers.
