Ms. Quin

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry (1) which Minister from his Department is to attend the European Community Internal Market Council on 17 July;

(2) what matters are to be discussed in the European Community Internal Market Council of 17 July.

Mr. Redwood

[holding answer 16 July 1990]: The Internal Market Council on 17 July was cancelled.

Ms. Quin

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what matters are to be discussed at the European Community Internal Market Council on 17 September.

Mr. Redwood

[holding answer 17 July 1990]: I understand that at this stage the matters likely to be discussed at the Internal Market Council on 17 September are transEuropean infrastructure networks, the copyright protection of computer programmes, and spray suppression devices for vehicles and trailers. However, this agenda must be very uncertain. It is some time before the Council, and firm agendas are usually announced in the committee of permanent representatives about two weeks before the Council in question.

Ms. Quin

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry which Minister from his Department is to attend the European Community Internal Market Council on 17 September.

Mr. Redwood

[holding answer 17 July 1990]: Plans have not yet been finalised for ministerial attendance at the 17 September Internal Market Council. It is unlikely that I will be the United Kingdom representative.
