To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he will hold a public hearing before granting supervisory status to the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.

No. But we intend, in considering applications for recognition as a supervisory body, to take account of any views or representations we receive from third parties.
