§ Mr. AtkinsThe scheme to widen the M2 between junctions 1 and 3 was extended earlier this year to include the section between junctions 3 and 4. In the light of this the programme for the whole scheme is being reviewed. 585W Meanwhile my Department's consultants are continuing to investigate possible options for carrying out proposed widening.
My Department has no plans at present to widen the M2 beyond junction 4 to Faversham but the need to do so will be kept under review.
